In order to encourage innovation and digitalization, the Protocol and Technology Association (PTA) has told all telecom operators and internet service providers to move as quickly as possible to IPv6 technology. IPv6 is the latest version of the internet protocol (IP). IPv6, which stands for “Internet Protocol version 6,” is a protocol used to identify devices on a network and send data between them. It has a much larger pool of IP addresses than its predecessor, IPv4.
This makes it possible for people to use the Internet of Things to control home appliances with their cell phones. This is one of the many ways IPv6 is better than IPv4 (IoT). Without switching to IPv6, the Internet of Things (IoT) and fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks won’t be able to take off fully.
During the change from IPv4 to IPv6, PTA has kept in touch with its licensees and set up a number of capacity-building events with the Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) and Internet Society (ISOC). After getting orders from the PTA to do so, mobile providers have turned on IPv6 for their customers.
But in order to protect their privacy, users must switch from IPv4 to IPv6 on their own in the network settings. Users who are having trouble are told to contact their operators or service providers for more help.
